Privacy Policy

FloriZen is an iOS app for AI-assisted houseplant diagnosis. This policy explains what data is collected, why it is used, and how to contact us.

Data We Collect

• Email address: the address provided by Sign in with Apple, including Apple private relay addresses.
• User ID: the stable identifier returned by Sign in with Apple.
• Photos or videos: plant photos taken in the app, selected from the photo library, or uploaded to the website demo for diagnosis.
• Other user content: plant names, notes, tags, reminders, and scan history created in the app.
• Purchase history: subscription status and renewal information provided by Apple StoreKit.
• Diagnostic data: server-side request logs such as timestamp, anonymized request id, and HTTP status for reliability and abuse prevention.
• Product interaction analytics: anonymous screen names, route templates, app environment, app version, operating system, and analytics session/app-install identifiers collected through PostHog.

How We Use Data

Data is used for app functionality: account access, photo-based plant diagnosis, saving scan history, managing subscription access, support, reliability, and security. FloriZen does not use data for cross-app tracking and does not sell personal data. Product interaction analytics are used to understand onboarding, scan, result, and reminder flows.

AI Processing

Plant photos may be processed by AI inference providers to identify the plant, detect visible stress signs, and generate diagnosis and care guidance. Email addresses and Apple user identifiers are not sent to AI providers. Photos are not used by FloriZen for advertising tracking.

The website demo provides a simplified scan result without an account, plant timeline, reminders, weather, or geolocation. Demo uploads are sent to FloriZen infrastructure and AI inference providers only to generate that simplified analysis and prevent abuse.

Analytics Processing

FloriZen uses PostHog for first-party product analytics. We send anonymous screen-view and product interaction events only. We do not send plant names, scan identifiers, reminder identifiers, photos, diagnosis text, email addresses, or Apple user identifiers to PostHog. PostHog is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Website, Cookies, and Local Storage

The FloriZen website does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, tracking pixels, browser fingerprinting, localStorage, or sessionStorage to identify visitors. The website may process standard infrastructure logs, such as IP address, user agent, timestamp, URL, and HTTP status, to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and keep the service reliable.

If Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled for the website, it is used only to measure aggregated page views and performance. It does not set cookies or use localStorage, and FloriZen does not use it for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Retention and Deletion

Photos, scans, and plant history are kept while your account is active so the app can show your history. You can request deletion from the app or by contacting support. Deletion removes or anonymizes account-linked data so it can no longer be connected back to you in normal operation.

Children

FloriZen is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will remove it.
