DIAGNOSIS

Chronic soil overwatering. The root system is suffocating; lower leaves are losing turgor and yellowing from the base outward.

PLAN FOR THE COMING DAYS

  1. 01

Stop watering for 7 days, let the top 3cm dry out

  2. 02

Check drainage; if the pot has no holes, repot into one that does

  3. 03

Remove fully yellowed leaves at the base, leave the rest

IN THE OWNER'S WORDS

I thought I was overwatering — turned out the light was low so roots stayed wet too long.
